This is probably the easiest to make and the most addictive snack ever. I made these caramelised nuts to decorate a cake, but only a handful actually made it that far. The contrast between the slightly bitter walnuts and sweet caramel coating is beautiful and makes this treat absolutely irresistible.
CARAMELISED WALNUTS WITH TRIPLE SEC
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter
3 teaspoons triple sec
- Place all ingredients in a pan. On a medium/medium-high heat cook, stirring constantly, for about 5-7 minutes or until nuts turn golden brown and all sugar has melted.
- Transfer nuts to a baking tray that has been lined with baking paper or foil. Cool completely before breaking into pieces.
