Caramelised walnuts

This is probably the easiest to make and the most addictive snack ever. I made these caramelised nuts to decorate a cake, but only a handful actually made it that far. The contrast between the slightly bitter walnuts and sweet caramel coating is beautiful and makes this treat absolutely irresistible.

CARAMELISED WALNUTS WITH TRIPLE SEC

Ingredients

125g walnuts
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter
3 teaspoons triple sec

Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients in a pan. On a medium/medium-high heat cook, stirring constantly, for about 5-7 minutes or until nuts turn golden brown and all sugar has melted.
  2. Transfer nuts to a baking tray that has been lined with baking paper or foil. Cool completely before breaking into pieces.
