This must be the easiest recipe this blog has seen so far. Only five ingredients and three quick steps are separating you from enjoying these energy balls that are full of almondy, oaty and coconuty goodness. Of course, dark chocolate is also involved. You can’t get too far without that one.

It was the first time I’ve tried making energy balls and I can definitely say they do justify their name. Just one of these little beauties keep you going for a good while. Eat two and you’ll be rocking the world for the whole day.

ENERGY BALLS WITH OATS, COCONUT, ALMONDS AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS (Makes 18)

Ingredients

50g dried oats
50g desiccated coconut
100g ground almonds
50g chocolate chips + 30g chocolate chips for decorating
85g honey

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl until well mixed. Cover and transfer it to refrigerator for 1 hour.
  2. Then, using your hands, take about a tablespoon sized heap of mix and roll it into a ball shape. Continue until all of the mix is used up. Return to refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  3. Finally, melt some extra chocolate chips and pour over the energy balls.
